Orlando Florida Jazz Band music is alive and well thanks to the Z Street Speakeasy Band. The wildly diverse, high energy jazz band brings to the stage a mix of musicality and entertainment to their clients. The band performs throughout Florida and the United States and is led by band leader, trumpet player, recording artist and vocalist, Mark Zauss. Female vocalist, Kathy, his partner on stage and off adds her own style to the beloved jazz band.
Their backgrounds are as diverse as their music, creating a perform storm of music and show for their audiences. Mark holds a BA in Music from Rollins College, as well as a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Performance wise, he is know for incredible dexterity and range on the trumpet, and his YouTube video counts show it. Mark has performed with The Spinners, Franki Vallli, The Four Tops, and more, anfd the Z Street Speakeasy Band has opened for Sting, Taylor Swift, and Howie Mandell.
Kathy graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy where she majored in Voice and Theatre, with a minor in French horn. She went on to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and has performed on the Mississippi Queen Riverboat, Disney Dream, and some of America's greatest show rooms. Mark an Kathy are surrounded by some of Orlando's best musicians, making that perfect storm that audiences can't seem to get enough of. Together, they create a jazz band performance that is specific to the crowd, whether they're playing a subdued back ground jazz band gig, or a roof rocking, roaring 20s party with the band launching into contemporary music. They bring their A game to every event, with a rebooking rate of ninety five percent, making them the most respected vintage jazz band in the Orlando event market today.
